Vermont Hotel Wedding Photography – Laura & Sean

Laura and Sean got married at the Vermont Hotel in Newcastle upon Tyne. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing and the prosecco just kept flowing.

I’m a sucker for anything 1930s (my house is a 30s build and I’m currently trying to restore it to its art deco glory days), so when Laura and Sean mentioned that they were getting married at The Vermont, with the rooftop bar and the ballroom, AND that they were doing a Gatsby theme I was kinda excited. And do you know what? That excitement was well placed because the day was just fabulous!

Laura got ready at Kenilworth House just over the river with her mum and bridesmaids. It was a lovely oasis outside the city, and even though the apartment was close to one of the main roads into Newcastle you would never have known. It was a bright, quiet, airy space, that the bridal party filled with all the anticipation of the day. Oh, and it needs to be said that I always appreciate a bride who plays Metallica on her wedding morning!

The happy couple wed in the Sky Lounge before heading out for a drinks reception and photographs. It was lovely and sunny but being so high it was a little windy. How windy? Windy enough to blow hats off; but the views were amazing so it evens out. We took some formal photos and got some fun ones with the wedding party around the high level bridge. Then it was back inside for speeches before the meal. You can’t beat a good reaction shot, and the best men’s speeches definitely got us a few of those.

It was a wonderful day and I only wish that I could have stayed longer.

Wishing you both all the very best for the future x
