Hardwick Hall Hotel Wedding Photography – Laura & Dan

A spring wedding in County Durham, what could be better? Laura and Dan booked the ever beautiful Hardwick Hall Hotel to host their wedding, and it was fabulous.

Laura’s morning was quiet and fun, with the kids running round and enjoying themselves preparing to be little princesses for the day whilst Dan and his entourage got themselves ready. The ceremony room looked stunning in clean crisp white, and the subtle gold accents were perfect. The white and subtle gold carried through beautifully into the flowers which were all white, the pollen giving just a hint of yellow.

The day threatened us with rain but held off for the photographs giving us dramatic skies and perfect light. There’s a beautiful little garden around the side of the building which is ideal for group pictures. I was particularly impressed that they’ve been planted to have colour all year round. So we were met with pretty purple heather and evergreen conifer trees. How lovely!

A Country Park

We could have gone for a walk around the country park that the hotel is next to, but that would have taken far too much time. Hardwick Hall Country Park is a wonderful place, and ideal for an engagement shoot, but it is big. It would have taken some time to walk to as well – especially in wedding heels. And while having wonderful wedding portraits is a big part of the day, it isn’t everything. Yes you want nice pictures, but you also want to enjoy your day.

So we took our pictures and went back inside to enjoy a few drinks before everyone sat down to listen to the speeches and enjoy a fantastic meal. There was fun, food, laughter, dancing and a fabulous day.

Congratulations Laura and Dan, here’s to a wonderful future together!
